Music Monday: A Soulful Song To Move Your Soles

Welcome to Music Monday. I missed the last 2 weeks due to computer issues one week and being preoccupied with my husband having a partial knee replacement last week. The computer is fixed and my hubby is on the mend so let’s get to this weeks song.

A few years ago we took a road trip to visit friends and family in Arkansas, Kansas and Colorado. We planned our route so we could catch Darius Rucker in concert at Red Rock Amphitheater in Colorado. I’ve always been a fan of Hootie & The Blowfish and heard that Red Rock Amphitheater is a great venue so it was a win win. My runners legs served me well hiking (literally) up to the amphitheater, but well worth it. The view was awesome. (Sorry no pic.)

His concert was a compilation of old Hootie & The Blowfish and some songs from his more recent country albums. I’m not much of a country music fan but his soulful bluesy voice can make anything sound good.  Needless to say it was an unforgettable concert at an amazing venue. I highly recommend both!

Notice the guy in the yellow shirt photo bombing us. Lol

This weeks song isn’t from his country list but if interested here’s a list to check out.

Use Me was originally recorded by Bill Withers in 1972, which I also love, it’s such a great song, but I thought I’d try to be (a little) more current. And there is just something about Darius’ voice in this version. I’m not sure if this is your typical running song, but it surely makes me want to move. It might be good for that long run….or dancing in the street. You can decide.

Have you ever planned a road trip around a concert? Do you have a favorite venue? Or a bucket list venue?

Thanks for reading!

That must be a very cool venue for a concert! Glad to hear your hubs is feeling better too!

It was a great venue. I hope to go back someday. Thanks about my hubs. He’s been a good patient too. 😊

That song has made an appearance on my playlist many times, but I prefer the Bill Withers version! I do love Darius’ soulful voice, tho!

Funny you should say that because I almost switched it to his version after re-listening to it. It’s a great song either way.

Oooh I’ll bet that was a great concert! I’ve been to Red Rocks to run but no such luck with a concert there.

Was it a hilly run? The hike to the Amphitheater was all up hill.
