Standing at the start, waiting for the gun to go off, it’s much clearer to me why I got up at 0500 on a Sunday morning to run 10 miles.
I love being part of this group of people. Runners have a camaraderie like no other. Whether you run a 7 minute mile or a 12 minute mile, we are all runners. We share a commonality…we love/hate running. We sign up for races, then wonder why. I spent the past week wondering what I was thinking when I registered for the Surf City 10 Miler. Why do I feel the need to run so many miles…at such an early hour?
Every time I register for a race, I say it’s my last. No one really believes me. It’s a strange addiction.
This was my view this morning. It’s a favorite route I run, but it’s a little extra fun running it with a bunch of other runners.
The weather was perfect. Overcast and cool. Even drizzled a little at the finish.
Perfect 10 miler! 🙂
Next up…
Start off the holiday season with a trail run!
Go to Rock it Racing to register for either a 5k or 12k trail run at Whiting Ranch Wilderness Park on 10/22.
Hope to see some familiar faces!
Thanks for reading. 🙂
Keep running my friends!
Summer running is hard. It’s right up there with running in the wind…
I’ve been listening to audio books and podcasts on most of my runs lately…
