March is done and spring is here (?)! Definitely not feeling it today with the gloomy, overcast, breezy day. Nice of the sun to make an appearance after 4:00 in the afternoon. :-/

Anyhow… this past month I took some time off work, which allowed me to put in some major miles, 76 to be exact, as well as time to think and reflect on life. With all that time to run and think I feel the need to get a few things off my chest and jump on the Runfession band wagon.

March Runfessions…

I runfess... I suck at push-ups and probably will never be able to do more than five. I runfess that I’m okay with that. I want to be that strong badass middle-aged (ugh) woman, but I’m a runner with no upper body strength. I can live with that.

I runfessI don’t always practice everything I preach. I don’t stretch when I should, I eat chips when I shouldn’t and I prefer a chocolate chip cookie with my afternoon tea rather than a healthy snack. I’m trying to be better but the struggle is real!

I runfess… I’m relieved that my daughter’s dance competitions are over and I’ll never have to spend the entire day on high school bleachers ever again {unless of course one of my grandkids become a dancer, and then I will go, and love it πŸ˜‰ } Is it terrible of me to admit this in print? I love watching my girls dance but those competitions are LONG!

I runfess… I would LOVE to write tickets to drivers who run red lights! Really, to all inconsiderate, rude drivers. It would give me such satisfaction.  πŸ™‚

Wow, this is freeing! I should have started writing runfessions a long time ago. Thanks to the bloggers who started this! Now I feel like I can start fresh in April.

In the month of April I will be focusing on speed work to prepare for the Purple Run 7k in Las Vegas on the 21st. It’s the perfect time to do interval training…I have an 8 month old German Shepherd who loves to run, and short sprints are her favorite. I also plan on taking a Pilates class for the first time. From what I read, Pilates strengthens your core, making it the perfect cross-training activity for runners. Opinions?

monthly runfessions

Do you practice all that you preach? Would you enjoy writing tickets to rude drivers?

Are you training for a race?

Thanks for reading!

Keep running!

Oh I bet those dance competitions are an all day affair! I just came from freezing my butt off at my son’s lacrosse game so there’s that. πŸ™‚
Don’t give up on the push ups takes a lot of time!

I’ve never been to a lacrosse game but I hear the balls are great for plantar fasciitis. πŸ˜‰
Thanks for the encouragement on the push-ups! I’ll keep trying…ugh.

I feel the same way about my daughters’ track meets. They’re sooooo long and the things they actually compete in take about a minute each. I’m so with you on ticket writing capabilities. There’s an intersection I frequent that, I swear, someone blows through the red light every time I’m sitting there. Scary. When I was running my best I went to a weekly Pilates mat class, so yes, great for runners. That said, I haven’t gone in awhile. Thanks for joining us!

Thanks for reading. That’s cool that your daughter likes to run. Wish mine did. πŸ™‚
My plan is to do 1 Pilates class a week. We shall see…

I runfess that I”m grateful my son does gymnastics, just because it’s inside and it’s actually fun to watch. Until they fall off the bar…

Isn’t it great to Runfess? I tell you that Marcia really started something good…

It’s fun to watch dancing too, but competitions can be long. Still better than some sports. πŸ˜‰
That balance beam makes me nervous, otherwise I love watching gymnastics!
