It’s a little late for a morning coffee date but I do enjoy an iced coffee in the afternoon as a pick me up. So please join me as I link up with Coco and Deborah for The Ultimate Coffee Date.
Over coffee I would tell you that I’m late because I was up in the wee hours to ride my bike with my sister and hubby. Like I mentioned last week I’ve been enjoying some riding with the hubs. He’s even gone for a ride or two without me. My sister is finishing up some bike challenge so she’s been putting in the miles and I just tag along when I can.
Over coffee I would tell you that I am so over all the horrible things going on all over the country. Portland is ruined, every time I turn around someone is losing it over wearing (or not wearing) a mask, people are killing each other, human trafficking is being swept under the rug and now everything is disposable again due to this freaking pandemic. I’ve gotten to the point that I don’t want to watch or read the news, but is that irresponsible of me to want to live under a rock?
Over coffee I would say that I’m still on the fence about running the Boston virtual marathon. If I do do it, it will be on Labor Day because my family will be home to cheer me on. I might ask them to go to miles 6, 12, 18 and then the “finish line”. Is that asking too much?
And finally over coffee I would say that summer is going by way too fast. The days are already getting shorter. Ugh. I haven’t even taken the kayak out or had a full beach day yet. Where does the time go? (I sound like my mother.)
That’s a quick iced coffee, and now it’s time to sit outside with my book.
I hope everyone is well, and not letting this pandemic get them down.
I thought I would put my feet up with a cup of coffee after Pilates…
Yay for getting together for coffee and a big thank you to Coco and Deborah…

I hear you on the news watching. I used to watch it morning and night and now I can go for days. It’s just too upsetting. I bet your family would love to come and support you for your virtual run. It would be great they could have drinks and snacks too! Thanks for linking up for coffee!

I feel that way about the news too–there is rarely anything good/uplifting on it anymore. I want to tune out as well but also want to stay informed, so I’ve been trying to limit the amount of time I spend reading about it.

Great idea to organise support for the virtual Boston Marathon!
Having them stand at 6, 12 and 18 sounds perfect to me. I think I would add someone at 22 as well, as it can get tough towards the end.
Let us know how it went!

Good idea. I think I’ll skip the 6 mile and add support at 22 instead. Thanks Catrina!

It seems as though this pandemic is getting the best of most of us. I can’t stand the rude/pettiness anymore, not to mention the new media. I limit myself to the weather report. If I were local I’d so be cheering you on at all the spectating points! <3

Thanks Marcia!
I need to limit myself to the weather report too. 🙂

Summer is definitely going too fast! But it always does…

I bypass the news as well. The ugliness that this pandemic brought out in people is astounding…and here (naive me), I thought it would unite us. I will be cheering (virtually) with loud shouts and high-5’s if you run Boston (virtually)…keep us posted!!!

I agree that summer is going by quickly, but I’m actually okay with that because the Fall is my favorite season 🙂
I still watch the news because I want to be informed on everything that’s going on, but I also offset all the ugliness and sadness by laughing at tons of memes throughout the week.
