Virtual Coffee With Cyber Friends

It’s time to sit back for a little chat and afternoon cup of virtual coffee. I’m joining Coco and Deborah for the Ultimate Coffee Date.

the ultimate coffee dateDon’t forget to visit our hosts as well as other blogs and leave a comment We all want to hear what you have to say. I’m going to get on with it before this becomes an evening cup of coffee.

If we were having coffee  I would tell you about the super hot weather we’ve been having. I have officially kissed June gloom good-bye. 🙁 I knew the heat would come but I didn’t expect it to be so soon and so hot! I guess it’s time to break the habit of slowly making my way out the door in the morning. No more dilly dallying for me.

If we were having coffee I would tell you the next time we meet for coffee I will have gone on my Alaskan cruise. I’m getting a little excited! My goal for Alaska is to enjoy fresh seafood, see some wild life and stay marathon fit.

I hope the bears share their salmon.

If we were having coffee I would tell you that my marathon training is going well, although I skipped my long run last week to go for a bike ride instead. My legs were tired after running in the mountains and I needed a break. Also I am now a bit concerned about the altitude for my marathon. I always run when I visit the cabin but not usually more than 4 or 5 miles. I did a 10k once in Big Bear and thought I was going to die.

Why I thought a marathon that starts in Big Bear was a good idea I’m not sure. I thought running was suppose to clear your head?

If we were having coffee I would tell you about our plan to redo our backyard. I want a clean, shady, comfortable place to hang out I have a vision in my head, I just hope I can transform it to a reality. More on the makeover to come. 😉

Tell me what’s going on in your piece of the world. Do you have a backyard that you love?  Have you been to Alaska? Did you see a bear or a whale? Are you training for anything?

Thanks for reading! Until next time…

Keep running my friends!

That is amazing! I can’t wait to hear and see all of your recap- I have always wanted to go!

I’m so excited! One of our excursions guarantees we will see whales. Another says bears and eagles are highly likely. I love seeing wildlife. I get excited when I see a bunny. Lol!

You should have great running weather in Alaska, right? Do you have access to any trails at altitude where you can train?

We have a nice deck in our backyard that’s covered with a gazebo but it’s been so hot we haven’t been able to sit out there. We’ve had a couple nice days and you bet we’re spending a lot of time out there. Swatting mosquitos…

I’m thinking I’ll run on the ship. I don’t want my running to interfere with any of our excursions on land. But yes, I’m thinking the weather will be perfect for running.
Last time I was in the mountains I ran at the high school track, so I got the altitude without the hills. I’ll probably do that again next weekend.
I wish I had a big yard with a deck…minus the mosquitos…they will eat me alive.

So glad that you joined us for coffee as well. I am hoping to hear about how you kept up your running on the Alaska cruise. At least if you have to do the treadmill you will have fantastic views!

Honestly, I didn’t even think about the treadmill option. I’ve never ran on a treadmill except a few strides texting one out at a gym. It felt awkward.
I pictured a track around to top of the ship. Or I’ll be that crazy lady dodging passengers running through the buffet. Hahaha!

I do enjoy my yard, but right now the mosquitoes are enjoying it too much too. 🙁 Your Alaska trip sounds amazing! LOL on the lollygagging meme. 😀

Mosquitos love me! Fortunately we don’t have many where I live. 🙂 My husband just booked a few excursions in Alaska with zip-lining as one of them. I’ve zip-lined twice…once terrified and once loved it. I’m not a huge fan of heights and I saw a suspension bridge that needed to be crossed so I’m getting a little concerned. 😉
