We hiked the first of a series of new hikes: Whiting Ranch Wilderness Park in Trabuco Canyon.
To find it, Google 26701 Portola Pkwy, Foothill Ranch. It looks like your pulling into a shopping center but there is a small lot to the left, charges $3 to park. The trailhead is right there.
Not sure if you can read the sign but it warns you of mountain lions. Fortunately we didn’t see any.
The weather was perfect, a little chilly at the start but warmed up as we got going. Probably not the hike you want to do if it’s going to 80. The views were beautiful, unfortunately my pictures don’t capture the true beauty.
Paths were clearly marked and actually had water fountains and maps.
Watch out for mountain bikers, most give you a warning but sometimes they fly by without a sound and can scare the “you know what” out of you.
Don’t forget to notice the beauty surrounding you. Sometimes you get focused on the workout and forget to look around and “smell the roses” (or look at the flowers). There are a ton of different kinds of flowers and plants…look around. 🙂
