Runfessions: October Edition

Once again it is time for Runfessions. It’s a time to cleanse our sole and get ready to start a new month. I can hardly believe my favorite month is coming to an end!

I’m linking up with Marcia’s Healthy Slice. Check out a few other runners’ blogs for their runfessions and leave a comment to show your support.

October has been a pretty amazing month for me but that doesn’t change the fact that there’s always seems to be something to runfess.

I runfess that I want to tell everyone I meet that I qualified for the Boston Marathon, even though I know most non-runners either don’t appreciate the importance of a BQ or don’t really care. πŸ˜‰ I’ve been doing my best at holding back and only telling people who I know will appreciate it (other than all my FB and IG friends, they know by default)

I runfess that I am now worried that my BQ time wasn’t fast enough to actually get me into the marathon and briefly entertained the idea of running another marathon to try to get a better time with more of a cushion. This was a fleeting thought because no, I am not crazy. My goal was to BQ and I did. Goal met! I am going to Boston one way or another…as a runner or as a spectator. And I’ll be happy either way. I runfess, I’m lying…I’ll be so disappointed if I don’t get in. πŸ™

I runfess that I haven’t gone running since my marathon (2 wks), not even a mile! And I am surprisingly okay with that. But I do runfess that I saw someone doing hill repeats today and felt a little envious. Lol.

What are your runfessions for the month of October? Do you feel the need to tell the world when you meet a specific running goal? Or is it just me? πŸ™‚

I’m also linking up with Running on Happy & Fairytales and Fitness for the Friday Five 2.0 linkup! Share the love!

Thanks for reading!

Keep running!

If I ever qualified for Boston, I would also tell everyone! you should be really proud

Thanks! I’ve practically told everyone. Lol

Yes! You should be shouting that BQ from the rooftops! It’s a huge deal, whether people realize it or not.

Thanks Marcia! The people that don’t understand BQ’ing are just as impressed about “simply” completing a marathon, so I guess it’s the same. πŸ˜‰

I must have missed the big BQ news…huge CONGRATS!!!!!!! I”d LOVE to do Boston someday, but I’d have to knock a good 35+ minutes off my PR and don’t want it bad enough to train that hard for it. But, still….. πŸ˜‰ Seriously, that’s a great feat for you, congrats again πŸ˜‰

Thanks so much Kimberly! I wanted it REAL bad and had a lot of sleepless nights thinking and worrying about it. So happy I did it! If it ever becomes something you do want bad enough I suggest a downhill course, I seriously don’t think I could have done it without one.

Umm if I qualified for Boston I would probably pay for an ad in the newspaper to announce it, lol. It’s a huge accomplishment and you trained hard for it. Keep telling everyone!

Hahaha! Thanks! I did train hard and never thought it was possible. If I actually get in I’m getting a jacket and will probably wear it everywhere! Lol

That’s definitely something to be proud of. Are you hoping to go to Boston in 2019? I only ask because didn’t announcements already come out for those who made it? My sister BQ-ed last year but she still didn’t make it in for 2018. Luckily she lowered her time and made it in for 2019.

Thanks for linking up with us! Bes sure to come back again nest week!

I BQ’d for 2020. Yes registration closed for 2019 in Sept. I’m hoping my time is good enough. That’s why the BAA lowered the qualifying times by 5 mins, they had too many people beating their times by more than 5 mins, so they tightened it more. Congrats to your sister!
