I haven’t runfessed in a while but it’s good to cleanse the sole on occasion. June is ending and summer is here so let’s runfess into a new season of running.
I runfess…June gloom was bringing me down being the sun-worshipper that I am, but can I put in a request to Mother Nature that the sun wait until I get my procrastinating butt out of the house and my run underway before it starts blazing? Overcast mornings and sunny afternoons is what I like! Hope she’s listening. π
I runfess…It’s been a bit of an adjustment working at the college Health and Wellness Center. I’m still in the ED (emergency department) 2 or 3 days a week but have picked up an easy 9-5 gig on Tuesdays. It’s so far from what I’m use to, which was partly the reason for taking it, but can you say boring?! I almost fell asleep a couple of times. I’m bringing my yoga mat and resistance bands next week to make good use of my time. Thank goodness summer hours are only 9-2!
I runfess…I’m kind of liking/not liking being on a training schedule. Since my last marathon I haven’t really been training for anything and I think I like it. My life doesn’t completely revolve around running. Having said that, I do miss the discipline that comes with a training schedule. I guess I’ll just enjoy my easy runs until training starts for my half in November.
That’s all I got! What would you runfess? Do you need a race to train for to stay focused? Have you ever dozed off at work?
I’m linking up with Marcia. Send her some love by visiting her blog and leaving a comment.
Itβs the end of April which means Marcia has opened the Runfessional for us…

Oh I hear you on the overcast mornings and sunny afternoons. How can w make that happen?!

That comment below is to you Deborah. This blog is giving me trouble. I had trouble replying to your last comment on my post too. Sorry.

I’ve put in my request, now we wait and see. π

There’s nothing worse than procrastinating on getting out for summer runs & then dying on said runs. Except maybe not being busy at work,LOL!
I go through long periods of training, and then sometimes long periods of not training (like now). I like both — is that weird?
Denise | 30th Jun 19
Not weird at all! It’s nice to have a goal, then a break from said goal. π

I haven’t yet gotten bored with this break. π Especially with the heat!

Cloudy mornings have pretty sunrises too! As much as I hate being frazzled at work, being bored can be worse! Good idea to bring your fitness bands. Can you read a book?
Denise | 30th Jun 19
This might be a duplicate response…I’m rarely up to seen the sunrise. :-/
I could bring my book but then I would for sure fall asleep. Lol

I wasn’t complaining about our cooler weather..I was having some great runs! Now it’s back to being humbled again. Yikes!!
It’s amazing how boring the college health center is! Good thing you stuck with ED to balance it out.
Denise | 30th Jun 19
It sure is a good thing. As crazy busy as the ED is, I’m use to it.

Now that I’m on the verge of a training plan (for MCM, Oct. 27), I’m kind of dreading all of the “required” runs on the calendar. I love doing races, but the training runs sometimes are a buzzkill LOL I love summer running, even on the hot/humid miserable days. We have had such long, frigid and nasty winters in recent years, I’ll take any heat and sunshine I can get.
Denise | 30th Jun 19
I know you love the heat. I prefer 75 for summer running, but Mother Nature doesn’t listen to me.
Marcia | 30th Jun 19
I’m in that place too. No need to train for anything so I’m winging it. I do love being able to choose a swim or bike ride when it’s a billion degrees out. I hope the new job becomes less boring! Thanks for linking up!

I don’t swim but I too like to be able to ride or hike and not feel like I should be running.
I need to be thankful I’m getting paid at a cake job and not running for another 12 hrs in the ED. Perspective. π
