Coffee Talk: February 2022

Hello ladies, it’s time once again to join Deborah and Coco for a chat over coffee (or tea) to share a few tidbits about what’s happening in our little piece of the planet.

The Ultimate Coffee Date

If we were having coffee I’d tell you…

I’m trying out a new coffee, Fabula, that I saw on TikTok, it claims to be a healthier coffee, free of pesticides, chemicals and mold, which apparently is in most mass produced coffees. There’s benefits but this is not an advertisement so if you want more info go here. I chose a whole bean medium blend and it’s very smooth. Has anyone else tried Fabula coffee?

If we were having coffee I’d tell you…

I’m running a the Surf City half in Huntington Beach this Sunday. Huntington Beach is where I usually run my long runs so I’m not terribly excited about it. Also I haven’t trained as well as I probably should have but I’ll be running with a friend (providing I can keep up with her). Hopefully between that and the spectators I’ll finish strong. Either way I get a medal and a shirt. Hehehe.

And lastly, if we were having coffee I’d tell you…

One of the last times I posted I whined about work and the stress of it all, well it has gotten better. I struggle with transferring to a different department because one, I like my co-workers, and two, other departments require 4, 10 hour shifts and I currently work 2, 12’s with an occasional 3rd shift. The prospect of working 2 more days a week is not very appealing to say the least, and when would I run? Besides, 10 hours is practically 12. What am I going to do with 2 measly hours? Anyhow, the ED has mellowed a bit with COVID slowing down. We’ll see what happens after Super Bowl Sunday. Ugh!

That’s it for me. What’s happening with all of you?

Thanks for reading,

           Denise

I hope things get better for you at work. Every time I think about looking for a new job, I realize that in spite of everything, i have it pretty good. I love my coworkers and that is everything.

    Good luck this weekend!

I feel the same about my job situation. I love my work family.
      Thanks Wendy!

Goodluck on your half this weekend. I’m sure it will be alot warmer there than most of the country.

The Surf City got here quickly! I remember you mentioning it awhile ago, adn I was tempted (at the time) to consider doing it. Ugh…kinda wish I was joining you becasue it’s stupid cold in Iowa right now, LOL.Co-workers can make or break a job experience, so it’s great you have a fun bunch of peeps to support each other during this crazy time. I love most of my co-workers, in fact, I’m going to a concert (Saturday evening) with one of them 😉

There’s still San Diego Beach and Bay Half in April. JS
I love going to concerts! Enjoy!

Hah, I love that meme! I hope work gets better for you. There’s only so much a person can take. Good luck with the Half!

      Thanks on both. 😊

I’m glad that work has been better! Your line of work is already so stressful.

I hope the race went well! I hear you on not being excited by racing somewhere you train a lot. Which is precisely why I’ve never done the big local half.

At least you have the ocean!

    • Denise | 6th Feb 22

I chose this job for the excitement (stress) but who new we would ever have to deal with a pandemic.
Yes the ocean is a big plus. And it’s been so clear out.

I like that meme 😉 I hope things continue to get better at work for you.

    Good luck at Surf City!

Thanks Michelle. Life is what you make it. I decided I needed an attitude adjustment. 😛

Good luck at work. I hate my job and most of the people I work with. But at least I’m at home and I have paycheck.

Never heard of that coffee. I need to try it.

Hope your race goes well. Sometimes I actually do better when I’m not well trained. Running is that that.

    • Denise | 6th Feb 22

I’m sorry you feel that way about your job. The people I work with is what keeps me going.
I find I usually do better on a race if I go in thinking positive so I’m trying to be positive. 😬

The meme is hilarious!!! Good to know things are better at work. I’ve never heard of that coffee but it does sounds good. I like most coffees but my favorite is Starbucks. I make mine at home but sometimes pick one up at the drive thru.

    • Denise | 9th Feb 22

I usually get Starbucks at work because they have one in the hospital.
