Coffee Talk: Dec. 2021

I’m linking up with Deborah and Coco for the Ultimate Coffee Date where we bloggers shares bits of our lives. Usually non-running related for a change but not always.

I’ve missed a few coffee dates so I have a lot to share but I’ll try to keep it short. Let’s get started.

If we were having coffee I’d tell you that one of my daughters moved to Lake Tahoe with her boyfriend in August. And with the move went her cat Josie. My husband tried to get her to leave the cat with us but that was a big no, so 3 days after she left we adopted our own kitten.

Meet Cosmo

Cosmo is such a great kitten (6 mo’s old now). He loves to play with Luna, wants to share whatever I’m snacking on and takes afternoon naps with me while I read (nap).  If you want to see more adorable pics of him he has his own IG @cosmokitty.

If we were having coffee I would tell you that my husband just had a revision of his partial knee replacement. Some of you may know he had surgery back in Feb, well something didn’t take and they needed to go back in and do a total knee. He was not a happy camper but it all went well, with everyday feeling a little better (he’s on his 3rd day post-op). I’m hoping for some muscle memory to kick in and make this a speedy recovery. (I’m pretty sure that;’s not how it works but one can hope.) Fortunately he is a good patient and determined to heal quick.

I still find it ironic that the runner in the family has no knee problems. 😉

If we were having coffee I would tell you that I’ve been considering becoming a certified running coach. Mostly for my own knowledge and personal growth. It also would be nice to be a credible source of information and advise for my friends and coworkers who often come to me with questions. I’ve looked into a few options but I welcome any suggestions from the coaches reading this. Thanks.

There’s more but I’ll end there so I can read what everyone else is up to. Have a great weekend!

Denise

I hope you hubs is recovering well that does not sound fun at all. I did the RRCA run coach cert maybe 5 years ago. I wished it had more practical components to it and less technical and history but it seemed to be the predominant one at the time. Thanks for joining for coffee date!

Thanks for your input. That’s the one I was leaning towards.

So sorry to hear about your hubs. I hope he heals well! I’m sure you miss your daughter too, but what a great place to visit!

      Thanks Wendy.
It is a great place to visit, we saw a mama bear and her 3 cubs at the lake last time.

Sending healing vibes to your husband! Hey, if my 93 yr old mom can recover from hip surgery, I’m sure he’ll do great! Bummer that he had to have surgery twice though.

Cosmo is adorable! I do miss cats. Someday . . . right now is definitely not the time.

Lake Tahoe is exciting. I’ve always wanted to go!

I can’t imagine him recovering if he was 93. Especially if I was 93 too.
Tahoe is beautiful. Unfortunately it was Smokey both times we visited from surrounding fires.

Your kitten is adorable. My hubby wants another. I’m saying two is enough

I hope your hubby has a smooth recovery. Men are not good patients.

That certification is tempting but no time for me. Maybe someday.

Cosmo is the best. If we didn’t have the dogs I’d get another kitten.
He’s actually worse when he has a cold. Lol

I have considered the run coaching certification for the exact same reason. I get a lot of questions from friends, and while I can offer suggestions (based on what’s worked for ME), I would like to have some more knowledge and hard facts (so to speak) when I pass on information.

Exactly. Friends act like I know everything about running. I would never want to misinform anyone.

    Aww, Cosmo is adorable!! <3

I'm sorry to hear about your husband's knee but I hope he has a smooth/speedy recovery!

Cosmo is adorable!!! So cute! I looked him up on Instagram but couldn’t find the right account. Sending healing vibes to your husband. I hope he recovers soon.

Thanks we think so too. Sorry, it’s cosmokitty2021.
Thanks for the healing vibes too. 😍

        Found it! Thanks!

Sorry to hear about your husband having to have his knee redone. My husband is a candidate for knee replacement and had to switch from running to cycling several years ago.

I have a RRCA coaching certification and enjoyed the class very much.

I just followed Cosmo on IG! What a cutie!

My husband started riding last year after his partial knee.
I’m leaning towards RRCA. Thanks for the input.
      Cosmo is a love! 🥰
